How to Save Money on Baby
Register With Companies To Save Money:
I figured this one out due to my wife registering with a couple of companies when building her nest. It really hit home the first time she actually purchased a can of formula at $15. Because we’d registered with Babies R Us we had hit a couple of mailing lists and in the months leading up to our daughter’s birth we got a few things in the mail. Here’s what we got:
- 4 free cans of Enfamil
- 2 free cans of Similac
- Diaper samples from Huggies
- Diaper samples from Pampers
- Several free bottles from Avent
There were several other things that came our way as well I just can’t remember. Great coupon deals came in the mail giving discounts, large dollar amounts off. All in all with that one simple registration we saved $100-$200 in the first six weeks on things we would’ve purchased anyway. So I got on my computer and checked out every major manufacturer’s website for registration, mailing lists, rewards, etc. Here are the companies I got registered with:
- Huggies
- Pampers
- Enfamil
- Similac
- Avent
- Gerber
- Nestle
- Beech-Nut
- Babies R Us
- Earth’s Best
- Playtex
Six months later we’ve not got a folder full of coupons that we regularly get in the mail from many of the companies above. Similac alone sends us around 4 $5 off coupons monthly for their products and we use them all. We have probably saved $200 on Similac products alone. Registering with all the baby product companies you’d even consider using is a proven way to save hundreds and probably thousands of dollars at the register. I say probably because my wife does about 80% of the shopping without me but she regularly declares I save $10, $20 here and there. She just keeps her folder of coupons from these registrations and when she goes to a store she flips through and finds something that’ll help.
You’ll also get updates via email registrations on deals and sales. Just this week we got an email about a huge pampers sale at Target. Saved about $10 on diapers there. Every bit helps trust me these little bundles of joy are expensive!
